About Madeline + Jackson

Madeline and Jackson met playing indie rock, connected over a love for Irish and Scottish fiddle tunes, and play and sing Appalachian Old-time music whenever they can. Their originals incorporate all of these, ranging from earthy double fiddle to hard hitting country sounds. 

Madeline Dierauf is a Bluegrass, Old-time, and Irish fiddler from Brevard, North Carolina. A songwriter and singer as well, she is a founding member of Appalachian group The Wilder Flower (with Molly Johnson) and Baltimore-based Irish traditional trio The East Coasters. Growing up in Western North Carolina, Madeline Dierauf listened to and learned a diverse range of folk music and was immersed in the cultural traditions of Appalachia and beyond, through mentorship from Beanie O’Dell, Ellen Lee at the Mountain School of Strings, and Nicky Sanders. In 2020, she released her debut EP, Walk On By, and most recently, she released albums of original and traditional music with The Wilder Flower and The East Coasters. More recently, and showcasing her skills beyond the world of music, Dierauf has begun graduate studies at Oxford University in the UK.

Jackson Grimm is an accomplished and respected songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, band leader and teacher in the Western North Carolina music community. His original songs marry folk pop melodies with the lonesome sound of traditional Appalachian music. He also performs a wide range of traditional American old-time songs and fiddle tunes. In a region with a strong music culture, it is no surprise that Grimm's songwriting is representative of his musical birthplace: Asheville, NC. He has released two albums of original music and has been a featured performer and producer on numerous other studio albums. Grimm can be found performing under his own name, as well as a key member of bands such as Holler Choir, Susto Stringband, Old Sap, Hannah Kaminer & the Wistfuls. He won the 2025 LEAF Songwriting competition and has been a 2 year finalist for Songwriter Serenade. He has shared the stage with and opened up for acts such as Molly Tuttle, Sierra Ferrell, Shadowgrass, The Wilder Flower, Arlo Guthrie, Ordinary Elephant, Nathan Evans Fox, and more.

Diva Darling is the producer and femme-cee of the standing-room-only sex-themed storytelling show Smut Slam DC, and now of Smut Slam Baltimore and co-producer of the just-debuted Smut Slam Greater Philly (with Lola Kat). She is proud to have helped Smut Slam International creator Cameryn Moore develop the very first franchise show with DC. She's a sex educator, nightlife/event producer, and writer by day. She's also a burlesque performer and teacher, an actor, playwright/producer, and an author whose short story "Frenzy" was released last year in Best Women's Erotica of the Year Vol. 8. She's a popular presenter and producer at Nerd Nite DC, leads a polyamory discussion group at the DC Center for the LGBTQ+ Community, and hosts the SpeakTeasy burlesque show. Ken & Brad Kolodner lead the Baltimore Old Time Jam from every other Tuesday night 7-10pm. The first hour of the jam will be a "slow jam" so anyone can hop in and play along at a moderate tempo. From 8-10pm, they'll kick up the tempo for the "fast jam." Imagine a sea of fiddles, banjos, guitars and more all swelling together in a chorus of joyous tunes!

Letitia Van San leads an Early Country Sing from 6-7pm

On the opposite Tuesdays, Alex Lacquement & Friends will lead the Baltimore Bluegrass Jam from 7-10pm for a jam featuring bluegrass songs and instrumentals. Come with a song or two to lead - or just show up and jam along.

Guitarist Michael Joseph Harris started the Monday Django Jazz Jam in the winter of 2012 to build community around the music of Django Reinhardt and traditional jazz. The popular Monday was awarded Best Monday Night by City Paper.

“The Hot Club of Baltimore performs inspired arrangements of the Django Reinhardt repertoire, French waltzes, and Trad Jazz. The ensemble boasts a variety of configurations including an instrumental trio of two guitars and upright bass, a classic quintet with violin, a late 40's instrumentation adding piano, drums, and horns, and a Django Big Band, which emulates the sound of the early 50's when Reinhardt performed with Duke Ellington.”

A livelier life drawing event, Dr. Sketchy’s is where artists of all levels draw fabulous burlesque and variety performers. Enjoy delicious cocktails and compete in zany drawing contests to win free drinks and other awesome prizes! We’ll start off with quick 1- and 2-minute gesture poses and gradually move up to 20-minute sketches. No drawing experience is necessary; just bring your own drawing materials—plus generous cash tips for our model—and join us for some fun figure sketching practice!

"Creepy and Ethereal, Lula Lioness is sure to dazzle you with her trans excellence. Lula is a competition-winning drag artist and recently performed in the 3rd Annual Charm City Burlesque and Variety Festival.

"She focuses her producing on uplifting queer artists, especially Trans artists! She has worked on shows like “In The Stacks” at the Peabody Library blending classical music with drag, “EnTRANSed” an all Trans Burlesque Revue, and “Furrocity” Pride Show at Creative Alliance!"

About the venue - The Green Room is a gorgeous event space with wonderful acoustics, a cozy vibe, plenty of room for the jammers and viewers, great drinks of all sorts (beer, wine, cocktails, non-alcoholic options) and awesome food. It is the former location of De Kleine Duivel, a Belgian beer hall. They host a Django jazz jam on Monday nights. For you long-term jammers, it evokes the best of Liam Flynn's and Five & Dime combined.
